Snow's Coming

An experiment to see how paint would respond to untreated canvas. Initially just a wash of blues and browns, it reminded me of dark autumn skies, the kind you see when high stratus clouds override lower cumulus ones. Seeing the leaf stuck on the outside of my window one day inspired me to complete the painting as you now see it.
