A seemingly "natural-born" artist, Gerry was able to draw anything, and remarkably well, at a very early age.  A portrait drawn during a Grade 3 art class was framed and hung in the school office for many years.  Unfortunately, there were many incidents of getting into trouble with school teachers because he was drawing instead of studying.  Though encouraged in his artistic talent by his parents, the importance of scholastic achievement were given such emphasis that Gerry ultimately buried his artistic desires.

In the 1980's a brief fling with watercolours saw Gerry create some two dozen impressive paintings.  Though several of these sold easily, Gerry was too caught up in the typical life pursuits of career and marriage to enjoy the painting process.  The brushes were abandoned until 2006, when big life changes, including unemployment and transitioning from forced bachelorhood to meeting the love of his life, re-awakened his desire to be a creative visual artist.

Beginning in the spring of 2008, Gerry was once again producing works of art - this time in acrylic paints.  Without regard for style or subject matter, Gerry is producing unique abstracts, still lifes, seascapes, fantasies and whatever images surface from within.  Though an admirer of many artists, both famous and unknown, Gerry has no specific influences, choosing simply to paint from the heart.
